Said the owner of Carisma Holidays a Chorleywood based company specialising in luxury holidays in France.

When we met Carisma they had an ageing peer to peer network and a manual booking/order processing system which lead to duplication of work and inefficiency.

The owner of the company hated PCs but knew things had to change to keep up with the competition.

Over the last 2 years we have installed a Windows server, and replaced all of their workstations with Windows XP machines. We have installed Broadband & a Watchguard Firewall and linked their PCs at home and at their offices in France to the office network.

We have also specified and written a full booking system that takes bookings, raises all paperwork and deals with all financial transactions as well as linking to their P&O ferry bookings. As this is written using the latest technology (namely SQL back end and a browser based front end), it can be accessed easily and quickly from France, making them more efficient in dealing with enquiries that happen during a holiday.

They have recently started taking orders directly from the web and have been amazed by the response.

We have also re-cabled their building fixing the intermittent problems they had and added new data & voice ports as their business grows.

We have installed a new digital phone system that links to their database so when a call is received they know exactly who is calling and what holiday they booked last year. As a network services provider we have been able to reduce their call charges considerably.
